Re: Kiplinger Article on Tax Deduction Changes

I use QCDs from my IRA for most of my charitable giving.  I am going to do it this year even if I don't have to take my RMD.

Does anyone know if this $300 above the line charitable deduction go to $600 for joint filers?  Thanks.

Re: Kiplinger Article on Tax Deduction Changes

Thanks for posting this.  Itemizing is not beneficial for me since reverting to "single" status, but I can and will take advantage of the charitable deduction.  I can't afford to donate a lot, but I do send a small check each month to the local animal shelter & SPCA, and it is a bit over $300 a year.  I usually don't read much on taxes and exemptions, since my situation is very simple and straightforward, and I know I'll take the standard deduction when it comes time to file, so I'm glad I decided to read your post.
