Screenout funds that invest in fund that are of different fund structure

I have these screen criteria that screen for peer lists.

Screen criteria

Feeder Fund = No
Virtual Class = No
Oldest Share Class = Yes
Total Ret Annlzd 3 Yr (Mo-End) Not= NA
Morningstar Category = EAA Fund Sector Equity Infrastructure

These are my results, the highlighted blue funds are actually the same as the Eastspring Inv UT Asian Infras Eq USD invest all in Eaststpring Inv Asian infras Eq A. I have though Feeder Fund = NO may have screen out such funds but it did not. Do you have another criteria that i can screen out these sort of funds?

Eastspring Inv Asia Pacific Infras
Eastspring Inv Asian Infras Eq A
Eastspring Inv UT Asian Infras Eq USD
ESPA Stock Asia Infrastructure A
ICBC Asia Infrastructure & Redevelopment

Re: Screenout funds that invest in fund that are of different fund structure

Hi Wee Kiang,

You can consider the following datapoint in your search criteria and I have included the definition for your review:

1) 'Fund of Funds'

A fund that specializes in buying shares in other mutual funds rather than individual securities. Quite often this type of fund is not discernible from its name alone, but rather through prospectus wording (i.e. the fund's charter).

2) 'Master Fund'

A Yes/No data point indicating if the fund is a master fund in a master / feeder relationship.

For the Eastspring Inv Asian Infras Eq A, it has indicated Yes for the 'Master Fund' and for the Eastspring Inv UT Asian Infras Eq USD, it has indicated Yes for the 'Fund of Fund'.

Hope it helps
